I began supporting Sue Ryder after my mother

 received care at Leckhampton Court Hospice in 2018. Witnessing firsthand the incredible compassion and 

dignity the team provided in her final days, I felt 

compelled to give something back.

What started as a small idea, to raise a few thousand pounds to help support the hospice, has turned into something much bigger.  I organised my first event at

 The Beehive: a relaxed day of live music, a raffle, a BBQ, and good company. To my surprise, it raised over £3,000.

Encouraged by the success, I began thinking about 

future events. Unfortunately, like many others, my

 plans were put on hold during the challenges of

 COVID. But with life returning to some normality, 

2022 felt like the right time to start again and 

the support was incredible. 

Over the past three years, the event has gone from strength to strength. Last year, we expanded to

our first two-day event and raised over £18,000.

 In total, we’ve now raised nearly £36,000 for 

Sue Ryder, across four events.

This year promises to be even bigger: two days of live

 music, raffles, auctions, great food, and some exciting new games. Let’s make this the best one yet.
